What to bring
What each job usually needs. Every case is a little different, so text us first and we will confirm the exact list.
Registration renewal
- Your renewal notice, or the plate number and VIN
- A smog certificate, if your notice says one is needed
- Proof of insurance
Title transfer (private sale or gift)
- The California title, signed by the seller
- The odometer reading, on the title, for cars that need one
- A smog certificate, if one is needed (in most private sales the seller provides it)
- A bill of sale, if the price is not on the title
Bringing a car from another state
- The out-of-state title, or your lender's details if the car is financed
- The current out-of-state registration
- A VIN verification
- A California smog certificate
- Proof of insurance
VIN verification
- The car itself, brought to us
- Its title or registration, from any state
- Your ID
Duplicate title, plates or stickers
- Your ID
- The plate number and VIN
